Northern Light Health champions Mental Health Awareness Month this May

Mental Health Awareness MonthThis May, Northern Light Health joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental health and promote mental and emotional wellness during Mental Health Awareness Month.
 
Throughout the month, Northern Light Health will share resources and information, including details on upcoming community outreach activities to raise awareness, remove stigma, and promote good mental health, including:

Acadia HOPE Day:​
  • Sunday, May 18: Acadia HOPE Day from 1 to 3 pm at Cascade Park, 600 State Street, Bangor – Join Northern Light Health and Yellow Tulip Project for a heartfelt afternoon filled with music, poetry, wellness activities, and powerful stories of hope. Swing by Cascade Park and help break the stigma around mental health!

Community Conversations:
  • Saturday, May 17: Discussions on Healthy Brain AgingJoin Northern Light Memory and Aging for free community lectures on healthy brain aging. Learn more about differences between normal aging and mild cognitive impairment the latest on diagnoses and treatments for Alzheimer’s and dementia.
    • 10 am, Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft
    • 1 pm, Northern Light CA Dean Hospital, Greenville
  • Tuesday, May 27: Optimizing Your Mood and Mental Health – Learn how lifestyle factors can affect our brain health such as diet, exercise, and stress management, and how social engagement and intellectual stimulation can promote good cognitive health.
    • 2 pm, Eastern Agency on Aging, 274 State Street, Brewer
